Questions

• How long do brake discs last?

  Typically two pad changes, so 50,000 to 80,000 miles. Heat-cycling and corrosion are bigger factors than mileage in the UK climate. A disc that has not been used hard but has rusted unevenly can be due before mileage suggests.

• Do you use OE parts or aftermarket?

  OE-equivalent as standard, from brands like Brembo, Pagid, Mintex and Textar. We can fit genuine OE discs by request, usually for an extra £30 to £80 depending on the car. We tell you the brand on the call.

• Will the car drive normally straight after?

  Yes, after a short bedding-in drive. We do that drive before we leave. Avoid hard braking from high speed for the first 100 miles to let the surfaces mate properly.
